Recognizing the importance of rural community development and the Company’s involvement in social development initiatives, Armleasing has signed a donation agreement with the Think Tank Armenia NGO.
In line with the “SMART VILLAGES” concept, which aims to combine local resources and opportunities in rural communities, Armleasing will provide long-term support for the implementation of the program in Khachik, part of the enlarged Areni community in Vayots Dzor Province, as well as Kornidzor and Nerkin Hand, located within the enlarged Tegh and Kapan communities in Syunik Province.
The project aims to:
• promote the sustainable development of villages;
• increase the attractiveness of rural communities;
• create opportunities for people to build their future in rural areas;
• help prevent urbanization and rural depopulation.
Three rural communities have been selected for the implementation of the pilot program.
Alongside the pilot projects implemented in these communities, the experience gained is expected to be applied to other border villages across Armenia.
Additional border communities are expected to join the program in the future.
